Gloucestershire Hospitals & Cathedral Natural Voice Community Choir
We are a ‘natural voice’ choir which means we learn songs by ear. There is no need to read music and there is no audition to join. Currently, as of January 2024 we have around 100 members, so there is definitely safety in numbers!
We are under the musical directorship of Fran Bolton who is an experienced Natural Voices teacher. Fran runs 3 weekly choirs in the Bristol area and has been involved with the Natural Voice Network for over 30 years. Under her tutelage, we have sung many diverse songs – often in foreign languages. We have conquered Mozart to Abba. The choir is split into Basses, Tenor, Alto and Soprano and so choir members can choose to sit where-ever their voice is best suited.
Everyone is welcome, so if you would like to join we offer a couple of free sessions so that you can get the feel of the choir. You can find us in the Chapterhouse of the Cathedral. More information can be found here or follow us on Facebook.
Supporting charities
Occasionally throughout the year there are a couple of opportunities to support local charities. Either through collection of food items for the Christmas Cathedral Men’s Breakfast Club or purchasing items for the Local Sue Ryder Home.
